Herbs and Vitamins: A Natural Combination
Vitamins are of plant origin, from where they are extracted and purified. Herbs normally
include a selection of chemical components, and, depending on the plant, can contain
vitamins as well. Herbs containing high levels of required vitamins accordingly makes for a
perfectly natural supplement, just with a few “bonus add-ons”. Herbal vitamins (herbs and
vitamins combined), are selective extracts from these plants.
Originally, scientists tied to isolate vitamins, to try and offer a tablet or capsule
specifically designed to supplement one specific shortage, for example vitamin E. As their
knowledge continued to grow and expand, they realized that the human body actually needs
the vitamins (and herbs) “in their original context”. The natural herbs contained complex
combinations which work together to perform more efficiently.
The worldwide swing towards organic products caused people to re-evaluate all things of
possible synthetic origin. Organic products mean that the results might not be as quick,
but there will be little, if any side effects. There is no build-up of toxic waste in your
body, as everything contained it the formula can be biologically, or biochemically
processed inside your body.
The Chinese people have had the knowledge about herbs and vitamins, and using substances in
“natural context”, for ages. The western world simply refused to tap into this knowledge,
and wasted a good few hundred years in the process.
Although herbal vitamins, or herbs and vitamins, offer no harmful side effects by
themselves, the interaction between these complex chemical compositions and prescription
medication might have undesirable effects. It would be wise to consult with your doctor
about the compatibility of the specific herbal vitamins you want to use, and any medication
you might be taking regularly.
If you should decide to buy your vitamins and herbs (or any other organic products, for that matter), from an online dealer, be sure to check the company credentials first. A great looking website does not automatically mean that you are dealing with a reputable company. There are fraudulent companies out there who sell “fake” products, and you might end up consuming unwanted substances that are not openly listed amongst the ingredients.
